Good afternoon,distinguished judges. I'm No. 1 candidate,applying for primary school English teacher. My topic is 《My birthday》. Now I'm ready. Class begins.
Ⅰ. Warming up and lead in
T:Hello,everyone!Today is Kelly's birthday,let's sing the birthday song for her.Happy birthday to you,happy birthday to you,happy birthday to you,happy birthday to you.
T:Let's sing together. Happy birthday to you,happy birthday to you,happy birthday to you,happy birthday to you.
Ⅱ. Presentation
T:Look at the calendar,how many month in a year,yes,12 months in a year. Do you know how to say each month?Let's look at the first one January,yes,it is the first month in a year. (use the same way to teach the rest months)After we've learned twelve months,we can ask which month someone was born. But,how can we ask?Well,we can use the sentence pattern“When is your birthday?”“My birthday is in ...”For example,Lily asks Tom“When is your birthday?March,April,or May?”Tom says,“My birthday is in April. When is your birthday?June,July or August?”Lily says“My birthday is in July. ”
Ⅲ. Practice
T:Ask 12 students to join in the Bomb gameand each one stand for a different month. After everyone in the game remember their month number,the game begins. The first student says the sentence“My birthday is in July” and then ask one of the rest students a question“When is your birthday?”Game over until every student has been asked.
T:Ask 12 students and 3 for a group to practice 12 months' pronunciation.Ask one of the rest students acts as a season broadcaster and the other 12 “months” read the corresponding months out. For example,the season broadcaster says autumn,then the corresponding students speak out their months in turn.
Ⅳ. Production
T:Make a conversation by asking“when is your birthday?”with your partner.
Ⅴ. Summary and homework
T:What we've learned today?Yes,as Tony said how to ask and answer someone's birthday.
T:Ask your family members' birthday and share it with your classmates next class.
